Qualifications
- A post-secondary qualification in engineering, computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a related quantitative discipline; Master’s degree is an advantage
- Extensive experience configuring and operating Databricks environments, including workspace design, cluster administration, CI/CD pipelines, security, governance, and enterprise-level management
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining data pipelines and lakehouse architectures using Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, streaming, workflows, medallion architectures, and handling real-time and batch data ingestion
- In-depth knowledge of the Databricks ecosystem, including Unity Catalog, data lineage, role-based access control, monitoring, cost optimization, ML/AI enabling, model deployment, and secure data collaboration (Clean Rooms)
- Experience integrating Databricks with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), Kafka, SQL databases, APIs, and IoT/OT systems
- Strong grasp of scalable data engineering, governance, multi-tenant architecture, and enterprise platform strategies supporting analytics and AI
- Competency in Python, R, or Java programming languages
- Experience with data analysis libraries like Pandas and NumPy
- Familiarity with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn
- Knowledge of SQL and Influx databases, data warehousing, ETL processes, and tools such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
- Working knowledge of cloud services from AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
- Understanding of software engineering best practices and version control systems like Git
- Proven ability to design efficient algorithms, deploy machine learning models to production, and utilize data visualization techniques
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Self-motivated team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Desirable but not essential: Experience with Agile methodologies, knowledge of automation mechanical/electrical/control systems, machine operation and maintenance, machine vision systems, PLCs and communications, and insights into business intelligence
