Deli Associate

About the Role

Working as a Deli Associate at Walmart Canada provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience and grow your skills in the retail sector. This role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service following Walmart's core values, while maintaining and organizing the deli section and assisting with item stocking and sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the deli department's presentation and cleanliness.
• Rotate inventory regularly and inspect products to remove expired items.
• Ensure all merchandise is clearly signed and accurately priced.
• Comply with strict standards regarding cold chain management, calibration of thermometers, recording of temperatures, proper food handling techniques, product rotation, adherence to sell-by and expiration dates.
• Take and prepare deli orders including slicing and handling meats, cheeses, fried chicken, and other deli products upon customer requests.
• Support front-end associates with price verifications when needed.
• Operate slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and prepare salads and side dishes destined for display or special customer orders.
• Keep work areas clean, free of unnecessary debris, objects, and liquids to maintain a safe environment.

Compensation

The position starts at a minimum wage of $18.70 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be aged 16 years or older.
