Overview
The Electrical Inspector will oversee and evaluate electrical installations to ensure they adhere to approved plans, technical specifications, and safety norms. This position plays a critical role in verifying that electrical systems are ready, meet quality standards, and seamlessly integrate with data center infrastructure and critical components.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems including power distribution networks, cabling assemblies, containment structures, grounding, and lighting setups.
- Validate electrical installation against approved drawings, industry standards, and project specifications.
- Review and address Work Inspection Requests (WIRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and Requests for Information (RFIs) within project deadlines.
- Supervise installation of equipment such as electrical panels, uninterrupted power supplies (UPS), generators, and their related interfaces.
- Collaborate with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) vendors and contractors to ensure proper integration of Electrical and Fire Engineering (EFE) and Low Level Instrumentation (LLI) systems.
- Support electrical testing, commissioning procedures, and readiness for Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
- Detect quality non-conformities, prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and monitor the resolution of identified issues.
- Maintain thorough inspection documentation, prepare reports, and manage on-site records.
- Assist with snagging activities, resolving punch list items, and conducting final handover inspections.
- Ensure all electrical works comply strictly with applicable safety regulations and standards.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical inspection and supervising installations.
- Preferably experienced with mission-critical environments or data center projects.
- Knowledgeable in low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) electrical systems, infrastructure, and safety codes.
- Familiar with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) methods and standard inspection workflows.
- UPDA certification is advantageous.
- Strong technical aptitude and coordination capabilities.
