Position Overview
The University of South Alabama's Environmental Services department is currently seeking to fill the role of Environmental Services Aide I. This position is part of the Finance and Administration division and is located on the main campus in Mobile, AL.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out routine housekeeping and cleaning tasks.
- Maintain tile, terrazzo floors, and carpeted sections using proper vacuuming equipment according to schedule.
- Clean offices and classrooms, including furniture, lighting fixtures, chalkboards, and dry erase boards.
- Restock chalk and empty all trash containers regularly.
- Sanitize restrooms by scrubbing commodes, urinals, and lavatories.
- Apply deodorizers and germicides appropriately.
- Refill soap dispensers as well as towel and tissue paper holders.
- Polish mirrors, plumbing fixtures, and clean covers for lighting units as necessary.
- Clean reachable glass surfaces using a step ladder where needed.
- Ensure consistent and punctual attendance adhering to scheduled hours.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned and be willing to work overtime when required.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
Work Schedule and Location
- Workdays are Monday through Friday.
- Working hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Full-time position based at the main campus.
