Role Overview
The Equipment Manager position is a part-time remote role accountable for managing the lifecycle, availability, and documentation related to equipment utilized within the organization or by its clients. The incumbent will handle tracking inventory, updating equipment records, and coordinating the allocation, maintenance, and return of assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate equipment inventories and records.
- Coordinating equipment allocation and ensuring proper maintenance and timely return of assets.
- Communicating with internal teams and external partners to arrange inspections or servicing.
- Ensuring equipment storage, transportation, and handling comply with applicable standards.
- Monitoring equipment usage data to identify the need for replacements or upgrades.
- Supporting the creation of basic procedures aimed at minimizing downtime and sustaining operational continuity.
- Generating regular reports on equipment status and actively resolving issues proactively.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven proficiency in managing inventory, tracking assets, and maintaining detailed equipment records through spreadsheets or asset management software.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities tailored to managing multiple equipment requests efficiently in a part-time remote environment.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with vendors, team members, and stakeholders, including clear documentation and reporting.
- Basic understanding of equipment maintenance, safety protocols, and quality standards, including adherence to technical guidelines and checklists.
- Familiarity with digital collaboration tools such as email, video conferencing, and shared document platforms.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills to detect equipment issues and suggest improvements for ongoing process enhancement.
- Prior experience in equipment management, logistics, facilities, or operations support is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Educational background or training in business administration, logistics, operations management, or related disciplines is preferred.
