Job Overview
Morgan Stanley is looking to hire Analyst or Associate-level professionals with backgrounds in Equity Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Corporate Finance for their Equity Research Department based in New York City.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update educational presentations using Salesforce that include company profiles, investment merits and drawbacks, competitor analysis, financial indicators, and valuations utilizing accounting, finance, and economic expertise.
- Compose research reports covering new coverage initiations, data analysis, earnings releases, and industry news.
- Engage with institutional investors by responding to model and data analysis inquiries.
- Continuously monitor industry news and analyze its impact on companies under review.
- Build and nurture relationships with investor relations teams and management of the companies being covered.
- Conduct industry investigations and primary research through surveys, expert calls, and diverse checks to assess market trends.
- Support internal sales and trading departments with rapid analysis of breaking news.
- Employ AI-integrated research tools thoughtfully to enhance information collection, model upkeep, data examination, and workflows while preserving analytical accuracy, source validation, and quality assurance.
- Create research reports on private entities, initiate coverage on public companies, and analyze market and earnings data.
Qualifications
- Between 1 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in Equity Capital Markets or Investment Banking, preferably 2 or more years.
- Proficiency in Excel for building and maintaining financial models is essential.
- Professional writing experience including correspondence, presentations, or preparing industry research reports.
- Advanced skills in PowerPoint presentation development.
- Ability to adapt and perform effectively under pressure.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience in covering the Technology sector or other emerging growth industries is advantageous.
- CFA or CPA accreditation is a preferred addition.

Base salary for associates typically ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 annually, subject to individual assessment. Compensation may also include commissions, incentives, discretionary bonuses, and long-term incentive plans.
