Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Fabrication Supervisor to lead and manage the daily functions within our fabrication department in Conroe, Texas. The role demands expertise in metal fabrication and proven leadership capabilities to maintain production efficiency, quality standards, and effective team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and mentor fabricators to comply with safety protocols and production objectives.
- Conduct periodic performance appraisals and provide actionable feedback.
- Assign tasks thoughtfully according to individual skills and project demands, ensuring equitable workload distribution.
- Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to prioritize tasks and adhere to deadline commitments.
- Manage production schedules, adjusting personnel and resources to avoid project delays.
- Oversee the setup and operation of fabrication machinery.
- Guarantee that all fabricated components align with specified dimensions and quality standards as per blueprints and schematics.
- Approve final inspections prior to delivery.
- Diagnose and resolve fabrication-related challenges to minimize downtime and waste.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements aimed at boosting efficiency and product quality.
- Document production activities, equipment maintenance, and team performance accurately.
- Report key metrics such as productivity and material consumption.
- Uphold a safe, tidy, and well-organized work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- At least three years' supervisory experience in manufacturing or industrial fabrication contexts.
- Deep knowledge of fabrication techniques, tools, and machinery.
- Strong grasp of quality assurance protocols.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical, observational, and attentive listening skills.
- Reliable and consistent work performance.
- Capable communicator in both written and verbal forms.
- Able to successfully complete physical, drug, driving, and background screenings.
- Physical capability to push, pull, and lift weights of 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to stoop, bend, and remain seated, standing, or walking for 4+ hours at a time.
- Competent in using a tape measure and reading technical prints.
- Proficiency in decimal to fraction conversions and utilizing conversion charts.
- Strong manual dexterity with excellent color vision and overall eyesight.
