Factory & Production Manager

About the Role

The Factory and Production Manager is tasked with managing the entire production process and material oversight at a marble manufacturing facility. This role ensures smooth operations, high-quality outputs, timely deliveries, and adherence to safety and operational standards. The manager is responsible for organizing, planning, and controlling production activities to achieve company goals, optimize resources, and minimize costs.

Key Duties

• Plan and coordinate daily and weekly production schedules, ensuring processes like cutting, polishing, edging, fabrication, and finishing occur punctually.
• Monitor production to meet customer timelines and requirements, improving machine usage and reducing downtime.
• Choose appropriate materials in sufficient quantities to meet project needs while considering cost-effectiveness.
• Apply and supervise quality standards for marble products, conduct frequent inspections, and manage corrective actions for defects and non-conformance.
• Lead and manage production staff including supervisors, technicians, operators, and laborers, promoting teamwork, discipline, and safety standards.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of production machinery such as cutting and polishing equipment, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal breakdowns.
• Manage inventory of raw materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely procurement for ongoing production demands.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and factory regulations, promoting a clean and safe workplace environment.
• Generate comprehensive production reports, maintain records related to output, wastage, machine performance, and staff productivity, and provide actionable insights to enhance efficiency and cost savings.
• Deliver detailed costing, pricing estimates, production schedules, and timelines for projects during pricing and execution phases.

Key Performance Indicators

• Minimize order-to-delivery cycles to improve customer satisfaction and resource utilization.
• Reduce total production costs per unit, enabling competitive pricing and market advantage.
• Maintain and lower waste levels and enhance recycling or resale of scrap materials to convert waste into revenue.
• Ensure consistent machinery maintenance and reduce maintenance-related expenses.
