About the Role
Our client is a rapidly expanding, reputable consumer membership brand with millions of members, delivering discounts and lifestyle benefits via a robust direct-to-consumer (D2C) digital platform. As the company embarks on its subsequent growth phase, it is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join the FP&A team, collaborating closely with Growth, Marketing, and Product departments. This role offers a true strategic position rather than just back-office support — ranging from deep dives into revenue data to identify opportunities, to participating in strategic discussions that influence business expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on the importance of critical commercial projects and ensure accountability for results.
- Identify profit and loss improvement possibilities by conducting in-depth analyses of performance data to direct focus areas.
- Examine customer behaviors related to acquisition, retention, and lifetime value using cohort and full-funnel analytics to support informed commercial strategies.
- Develop and share the financial narrative behind monthly business reviews, presenting data clearly to senior leadership.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting initiatives in collaboration with senior stakeholders, perform variance analyses to detect driving factors, and suggest appropriate actions.
Candidate Profile
- Established experience in FP&A or commercial finance with a focus on customer engagement metrics.
- Background in D2C or B2C industries, preferably within ecommerce, marketplaces, or technology sectors.
- Proven capacity to analyze revenue trends and convert insights into commercial strategies affecting growth.
- Strong data modeling capabilities, including expertise with lifetime value, churn rates, retention metrics, funnel analytics, and marketing effectiveness measurement.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including skills in modeling, automation, and macros; familiarity with SQL is also required.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, comfortable in challenging, advising, and building credible relationships with senior non-financial colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of or progress toward a recognized accounting certification such as CIMA or ACCA.
- Experience using tools like Datarails or advanced SQL capabilities.
