About the Role
CGS Federal is searching for a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join their Information Technology team, supporting a significant federal agency based in Albany, NY. This full-time entry-level position offers an opportunity to demonstrate technical expertise in delivering IT support while contributing to the legal mission of the USAO office and its employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide superior IT support by maintaining effective and professional communication across various channels including face-to-face, phone, email, and ticketing systems to promptly assist users.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues reported by users efficiently and thoroughly.
- Install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot, and upkeep hardware and software, including personal computers, laptops, mobile devices, copiers, printers, video conferencing equipment, scanners, desk phones, and headsets.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of network systems adhering to established standards using devices like hubs, routers, switches, and servers as well as applying updates and patches when required.
- Reset user passwords and provide training and support on routine software applications and hardware usage, including onboarding new staff with orientation sessions.
- Support the physical setup, relocation, and reconnection of IT equipment within office premises.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related discipline.
- At least three years of hands-on experience in providing comprehensive IT support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams, SharePoint) and Adobe applications.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems, including server environments; familiarity with Apple iOS and mobile device management is preferred.
- Must be a U.S. citizen able to undergo background security adjudication.
