Role Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java codebases to introduce new features and support existing functionalities.
- Focus development efforts on enhancing control center software for automated vehicle location (AVL), intermodal transport control systems (ITCS), and electromobility applications.
- Participate in all phases of software development including analysis, design, implementation, and testing within international projects.
- Take ownership of specific software modules and ensure their seamless integration into comprehensive systems.
- Collaborate closely with development and project teams based at our headquarters in Germany.
- Utilize technologies including Java, JPA, Spring, REST, Maven, PostgreSQL, containers (Kubernetes, Docker), Loki, Grafana, and Wiremock.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Possesses a minimum of 2 years of practical experience in object-oriented Java software development.
- Experience with Java Persistence API and working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL is advantageous.
- Demonstrates strong commitment, teamwork, and eagerness to take responsibility within a Scrum-based development environment.
- Willingness to undertake occasional business travel to the Karlsruhe, Germany headquarters.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English is essential.
Work Location
The role is based in Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland, offering a hybrid work mode combining office presence with remote work to encourage collaborative development.
