About the Role
Located in West Valley City, Utah, this position involves a hybrid work model with four days onsite and one day remote. The Junior to Mid-Level Full Stack Web Developer will focus on enhancing the company website and ecommerce platform, emphasizing frontend development in JavaScript alongside backend support using Ruby on Rails.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance frontend features primarily using JavaScript.
- Implement user-friendly, responsive interfaces aligning with designs from internal designers.
- Contribute effectively to backend development with Ruby on Rails.
- Ensure delivery of robust, well-tested features across both frontend and backend.
- Identify and resolve bugs to improve application stability.
- Collaborate closely with a small team focused on product and platform enhancement.
Candidate Requirements
- Between 1 to 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficient in JavaScript with experience delivering production web features.
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or comparable backend frameworks.
- Ability to contribute across frontend and backend development tasks.
- Strong communication abilities, keen attention to detail, and good judgment.
- Availability to maintain the hybrid schedule, including four days weekly at the West Valley City office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with React.js.
- Proven use of Ruby on Rails in live production environments.
- Background in ecommerce application development.
- Knowledge of APIs, relational databases, background processing, and containerization tools like Docker.
- Familiarity with Ruby gems such as Spree or Avo.
Work Location and Conditions
- This is a hybrid role based in West Valley City, Utah. Employees work onsite four days a week and remotely one day.
- Applicants must currently live in Northern Utah and be capable of commuting reliably.
- An in-person interview in the Salt Lake City area is mandatory.
- Candidates unable to reside locally or meet in-person attendance/commuting requirements will not be considered.
