About the Role
Harley-Davidson Motor Company seeks a Lead Logistics professional to oversee market-facing logistics operations at the Gurgaon site. This position is vital in ensuring efficient transportation, storage, and delivery of finished motorcycles and service parts from India to international markets including North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The role emphasizes collaboration across regions to uphold and enhance the global Harley-Davidson customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary escalation contact for lead third-party logistics providers managing warehousing, transportation, and customs brokerage within India.
- Collaborate with counterparts in other markets to exchange best practices and build a global logistics community for consistency and operational improvement.
- Ensure products exported from India comply with trade regulations for distribution centers or direct delivery to dealers.
- Maintain and report logistics key performance indicators following company-standard formats.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to optimize distribution network design for current and future channel needs.
- Work closely with internal teams such as Order Management and Demand/Supply Planning to meet service levels and resolve issues promptly.
Requirements and Preferences
- A minimum of 8 years' relevant experience, including managing third-party logistics partners.
- Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, coaching, mentoring, and facilitation capabilities.
- Demonstrated project management skills involving contract negotiation and request-for-quotation processes.
- Experience in international logistics and customs compliance is advantageous.
- Knowledge of export processes for finished automobiles and service parts is a significant plus.
Education: High School Diploma or its equivalent is mandatory; additional diplomas related to logistics and international trade are favorable.
