Lead Physical Security Specialist

Position Overview

This role is situated within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, specifically under the Office of Safety, Security, and Asset Management based in Atlanta, Georgia. The position emphasizes responsibility for implementing and prioritizing security measures related to personnel security, credentialing, and both logical and physical access control.

Primary Duties

• Lead and supervise risk control initiatives concerning personnel security and access management systems.
• Provide expert advice and technical guidance regarding the operations of Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card Issuance Facilities (PCIF).
• Collaborate and coordinate with various operational divisions nationwide to ensure consistent security procedures across locations.
• Oversee database management related to physical access control systems (PACS), administration of records, and enforcement of information security protocols.
• Manage PIV card enrollment and issuance procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 federal grade level, encompassing all the core duties mentioned above. Experience includes paid and volunteer roles; volunteer work that builds critical competencies is also credited. Clear and detailed documentation of experience is required, including dates, hours per week for part-time roles, and any supporting official documentation for non-standard duties.
