Role Summary
The company seeks a knowledgeable Machine Learning Engineer focused on perception systems to join their team. This role involves crafting real-time perception solutions utilizing deep learning and sensor fusion to empower autonomous operation of heavy machinery in challenging, unstructured settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and deploy deep learning architectures for 3D perception, including tasks such as object detection, semantic segmentation, and occupancy forecasting.
- Develop and refine multimodal fusion networks combining LiDAR, radar, and camera inputs tailored for off-highway autonomous vehicles.
- Contribute to models that integrate visual and language inputs to enhance Physical AI capabilities.
- Optimize training workflows and real-time inference pipelines suitable for NVIDIA edge GPUs.
- Oversee data management for perception technologies, including pipeline construction, dataset curation, and comprehensive model evaluation.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to embed perception modules within the complete autonomy framework.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proficient in Python with substantial experience using PyTorch.
- Deep knowledge in 3D perception and sensor fusion involving LiDAR, camera, and radar data.
- Hands-on experience deploying deep learning models on embedded edge devices, including use of TensorRT, ONNX, and NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
- Strong foundational understanding of machine learning, deep learning techniques, and autonomous systems.
Preferred Expertise
- Familiarity with transformer-based perception architectures and Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models.
- Knowledge of Bird’s Eye View (BEV) perception and multitask learning methodologies.
- Experience programming with C++, Robot Operating System (ROS), and mmdetection toolkit.
- Exposure to perception challenges in off-road or adverse weather conditions.
- Proven achievements such as academic publications or notable industrial contributions in autonomous driving or robotic deep learning.
