Opportunity Overview

Join Hitachi Energy as a Management Trainee supporting global sourcing efforts in partnership with the global category manager. You will be responsible for transforming category strategies into execution while collaborating closely with project teams and internal stakeholders to achieve optimal results. Procurement actions must align with HVDC Business Strategies and corporate procurement policies. Engagement in project-based activities and execution of tender phase strategies are part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with strategic sourcing activities aligned with the category manager, driving RFQs and RFPs for BRM and project delivery to meet quality, lead time, and budget objectives.
  • Ensure timely supplier responses and adhere to internal deadlines; perform benchmarking studies for sourcing initiatives when needed.
  • Support category strategy implementation to generate cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Confirm negotiation outcomes and supplier proposals comply with strategy and project requirements, focusing on achieving budget and savings targets.
  • Prepare detailed quotation comparisons and equalization maps to aid purchase decisions; update project execution costs in BRM protocols.
  • Develop and maintain the supplier base focusing on total cost, lead times, quality, and capacity to support project supply plans.
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships to secure best value and continuous improvements throughout contract lifecycle.
  • Upload and manage standard and frame agreements in SAP Ariba; track contract expirations and alert category managers for renewals or amendments.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with all relevant laws, standards, regulations, certifications, and Hitachi Energy requirements.
  • Support supplier qualification, audits, claims recovery processes, and related quality issue matching.
  • Conduct regular post-delivery supplier evaluations, share scorecards, and initiate improvement actions with category managers and supply chain leaders.
  • Raise purchase requests (RFPs) and initiate purchase orders adhering to BRM protocols; assist with order acknowledgment collection when necessary.
  • Collaborate globally within SCM teams, including category managers, buyers, planners, and quality engineers to ensure goods meet budget, schedule, and quality standards for worldwide projects.
  • Interact extensively with engineering, project management, and SCM organizations to coordinate and support supply chain management activities.
  • Practice clear, timely communication internally and externally to support SCM initiatives and compliance with regulations and policies.

Candidate Profile
