Manager, Technical Program Management

About the Role

The position based in Mountain View, CA, involves managing a skilled team of Technical Program Managers and Business Systems Analysts within LinkedIn's Finance ecosystem. The focus is on strategic planning, portfolio oversight, execution, and talent growth across key finance-related programs. The leader will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Finance, Data, Security, Infrastructure, and Operations, to lead large transformation and modernization initiatives and ensure compliance and innovation with AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead planning, prioritization, and execution across finance-related project portfolios.
• Collaborate with engineering and business units to develop roadmaps aligned with company priorities.
• Guide investment choices and balance competing initiatives.
• Establish governance frameworks, operating rhythms, and reporting systems for portfolio health and progress.
• Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and capacity constraints.
• Align business goals with technical strategies and program delivery.
• Oversee enterprise programs related to Finance, ERP, Payments, GTM Systems, Data Platforms, Compliance, AI, and more.
• Ensure program structures include milestones, ownership, success measures, and risk management.
• Coordinate across multiple functions such as Engineering, Product, Finance, Legal, and Data.
• Lead executive meetings, portfolio assessments, and steering committees.
• Drive uniform project planning, tracking, issue management, and delivery methods.
• Remove obstacles and escalate urgent risks as needed.
• Build and mentor a high-performing TPM and BSA team, develop career paths, and spearhead succession planning.
• Foster organizational culture around accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
• Design and optimize operational models connecting finance, engineering, and business.
• Manage staffing, organizational design, and investment planning.
• Standardize program management practices and governance processes.
• Serve as trusted advisor to senior leaders and communicate clearly about risks and strategic decisions.
• Drive change and modernization initiatives to enhance platforms, automation, AI, workflow efficiencies, compliance, and user experience.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in program or technical program management, systems implementation, or similar roles.
• At least three years managing teams in technical program management, program management, business analysis, or engineering.
• Proven track record leading large-scale, concurrent enterprise programs involving multiple stakeholder groups.
• Strong expertise in portfolio oversight, strategic planning, organizational leadership, and executive stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent communication, influence, and presentation capabilities.

Preferred Experience

• Background with Finance, ERP, GTM, Data, Enterprise Systems, or Business Platforms.
• Experience in digital transformation, cloud migrations, AI, automation, or platform modernization projects.
• Knowledge of Agile, Lean, and modern software development processes.
• Experienced in managing distributed teams of TPMs and Business Systems Analysts.

Additional Information

LinkedIn adheres to equitable compensation practices with a salary range from $144,000 to $237,000, based on individual qualifications, experience, location, and other factors. The overall remuneration package may include performance bonuses, stock options, benefits, and other incentives.
