Role Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will oversee mechanical activities on infrastructure projects, ensuring strict compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, and industry standards. This role includes reviewing mechanical design and shop drawings, supervising installation, testing, commissioning of mechanical systems such as pumping stations, utilities, HVAC, and pipelines, as well as conducting quality assurance and safety inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on mechanical design and shop drawings, along with material submittals.
- Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning phases of mechanical systems including pumping stations, utilities, HVAC, and pipeline networks.
- Oversee on-site execution to guarantee compliance with approved construction sequences and safety regulations.
- Perform inspections, witness pressure testing, and validate adherence to project specifications.
- Review technical correspondences, Requests for Information (RFIs), and contractor submissions, ensuring prompt and professional responses.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges through collaboration with design and construction teams.
- Ensure all mechanical works comply with quality standards, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Between 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in reviewing mechanical designs and shop drawings.
- Experience working specifically with roads, bridges, and tunnel infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems, utilities, and industry standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, ASTM, among others.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities along with excellent communication and leadership skills.
