About the Role
Join Gensler's Chicago interior design team known for delivering innovative solutions across workplace and amenity projects. We are a collective of passionate creators who innovate through a global lens and local insight, fostering inspiring spaces that impact both occupants and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate client requirements into interior design solutions including space planning, conceptual development, schematic design, and construction documentation.
- Make independent decisions adapting established design practices and techniques creatively.
- Select and present furniture, finishes, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), colors, and lighting to clients.
- Create 3D models and digital visualizations utilizing software such as Revit and SketchUp to communicate design concepts.
- Prepare interior finish schedules, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections for construction execution.
- Support design implementation through thorough documentation during project completion.
- Collaborate with consultants, vendors, product reps, and fabricators to realize design intent.
- Mentor junior designers to foster a collaborative and creative studio environment.
- Work synergistically with other design and professional teams and contribute to office initiatives and learning programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited design or architecture program.
- At least 6 years’ experience leading interior design or architecture projects, specifically with recent workplace project involvement.
- Professional credentials such as LEED accreditation or WELL AP are advantageous.
- Proven experience implementing sustainable design strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, client presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Revit and other digital design tools.
- A portfolio showcasing a wide range of workplace interior projects is essential.
Work Location and Compensation
This position requires onsite presence at our Chicago office. The annual base salary is expected to range from 69000 to 80000 USD, with additional bonuses and benefits, based on relevant experience.
