Role Summary
The Operations & Finance Manager will act as a pivotal operational leader, responsible for establishing and managing day-to-day business functions including business operations, finance, compliance, vendor management, and cross-departmental coordination within India. This leadership role includes oversight of supply chain and import logistics, contract manufacturing relationship management, finance and accounting, human resources, IT, and aligns both operational and field development activities for scalable growth in a lean startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all in-country operations as the primary decision-making point, setting priorities, KPIs, and accountability aligned with NeoLife’s global goals.
- Drive collaboration between departments like Operations and Field Development to ensure smooth distributor service and eliminate silos.
- Manage supplier and vendor relationships, regulatory compliance, and third-party service providers while representing NeoLife India with governmental and regulatory bodies.
- Control end-to-end supply chain operations from international sourcing, import customs clearance, coordination with global contract manufacturers to ensure seamless product flow and compliance with FSSAI and Indian Customs requirements.
- Oversee warehousing, third-party logistics management, inventory accuracy, order fulfillment timelines, delivery optimization, and returns management.
- Supervise all financial activities including daily accounting operations, journal entry approvals, bank reconciliations, payment processing, month-end closing, GST, TDS compliances, and preparation of financial performance reports presented to global leadership.
- Manage the operating budget, analyze variances, maintain banking relationships, and ensure robust internal financial controls.
- Handle Human Resources functions like recruitment, payroll, statutory compliance (EPF, ESIC, Gratuity, TDS), employee records, performance review cycles, and foster a compliant and professional workplace culture aligned to NeoLife values.
- Manage IT functions ensuring office system reliability, ERP and business software upkeep, data security, access management, and support technology rollouts.
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements including FSSAI, product registrations, government filings, and monitor industry regulatory updates with coordination from global regulatory teams.
Qualifications
- Graduation in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Professional accounting credentials like CA, CPA, CMA or equivalent are essential.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in operations with direct responsibility for finance and accounting functions.
- Strong exposure to month-end closing, P&L reports, bank reconciliations, GST, and statutory compliance within Indian regulatory framework.
- Proven experience partnering with contract manufacturers and managing third-party suppliers.
- Background working in direct sales, FMCG, health & nutrition, or consumer goods is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams including supply chain, logistics, and finance.
