Role overview
Gold Fields is looking for a Pastefill Operator to support underground mining operations at Granny Smith in Laverton, Western Australia. In this role, you will help install, run, and maintain pastefill reticulation systems that support ground stability and keep mining activities moving safely and efficiently.
You will report to the Supervisor Pastefill and work as part of a close-knit, high-performing underground crew. This opportunity suits someone who wants to build a career with a major owner-operator gold producer.
Roster and location
- FIFO arrangement from Perth
- 8/6 day roster and 7/7 night roster, rotating at Granny Smith
- Direct flight time from Perth is around 1 to 1.5 hours
- FIFO parking discount available
What the role involves
- Installing, operating, and maintaining underground paste reticulation systems
- Working with compressed air, ventilation, and water/dewatering systems
- Carrying out inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs in a timely manner
- Assisting the team with handovers and technical support when needed
- Maintaining strong safety practices and high housekeeping standards
Experience and qualifications
- Previous underground mining experience is required
- Experience in a service crew or pastefill environment is highly regarded
- Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and fix system issues
- A hands-on approach with a strong focus on safety and ongoing improvement
- Ability to work well in a team in a physically demanding underground setting
- Valid manual C Class Driver’s Licence
- WA Dangerous Goods Security Card
- Working at Heights certification
