Role Overview

We are looking for a driven Private Equity Associate to facilitate the assessment, execution, and oversight of investment opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry. The position requires rigorous financial evaluation, market analysis, coordination of due diligence, and ongoing portfolio review focusing on pharma assets, platforms, and healthcare opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess investment prospects across pharmaceutical sub-sectors such as branded, generic, specialty, and contract manufacturing businesses.
  • Create and update complex financial models including leveraged buyout (LBO), operating, valuation, and returns analyses.
  • Conduct comprehensive research on industry trends, competitive landscapes, product pipelines, reimbursement, and regulatory environments.
  • Support all phases of transaction processing covering due diligence, deal structuring, valuation, financing negotiations, and closure.
  • Liaise with company management, investment bankers, lenders, legal teams, consultants, and other diligence sources.
  • Develop investment committee documentation, internal memoranda, and pitch materials.
  • Assist with financial monitoring and KPI tracking of portfolio companies, backing strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior investment personnel on value enhancement, add-on acquisitions, and exit planning.
  • Monitor broader healthcare and pharmaceutical industry trends to guide investment strategy formulation.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Life Sciences, or related disciplines.
  • Three to five years experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or transaction advisory with preferably pharma or healthcare exposure.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation, and analytical techniques.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical business models, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics considered an asset.
