Overview

PGG Wrightson Seeds (PGWS), part of the global DLF Group, supplies premium seed solutions to New Zealand and international markets. As a key processor of seed and grain products, PGWS supports arable growers, livestock producers, and food and feed manufacturers.

We are looking for a Processing Supervisor to manage daily operations at our seed processing and dressing plant in Hinds, Canterbury. This role demands practical expertise in seed dressing processes, leadership in team training, and dedication to quality, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the Petkus Seed Cleaning Line, promoting operational excellence via proactive maintenance and process enhancement.
  • Lead and direct staff in operating the coating plant ensuring consistent, efficient adherence to procedures and treatment recipes.
  • Monitor production outputs and conduct sample reviews to meet rigorous quality standards.
  • Facilitate training programs and encourage best practice adoption within the team.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machinery and operational challenges promptly.
  • Ensure the workplace remains clean and compliant with safety standards.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 to 4 years' experience in seed dressing is mandatory.
  • Practical knowledge of machinery and/or agricultural farming operations.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and maintain equipment effectively.
  • Experience in coaching and staff training is advantageous.
  • Possession of a valid forklift certification is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
