Overview
The Procurement Programs & Systems Data Analyst utilizes expertise in data management and system operations to support and align with the Procurement Organization’s strategic objectives. Reporting directly to the Data Manager of Procurement Programs & Systems, this role focuses on achieving seamless, paperless Procurement workflows for Purchasing, Repairs, and Invoicing. Key responsibilities include managing reporting activities, innovating new reports, enhancing existing data processes, conducting root cause analyses, and providing data-driven insights to internal teams to address issues and identify improvement opportunities. The role also involves maintaining reference documentation and supporting data requirements tied to system upgrades and process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate technical discussions with internal stakeholders to gather and document data needs.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Procurement processes and their interdependencies.
- Analyze current Procurement systems to ensure data aligns with process changes and identify efficiencies.
- Create and refine forms, templates, catalogs, and tables to boost ROI in Procure-to-Pay and sourcing activities.
- Perform analytics to improve supply chain efficiency and support strategic category management.
- Conduct root cause analysis of system or program issues and manage bug resolution.
- Timely triage and documentation of operational issues.
- Implement change management for database and reporting modifications.
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to supply chain processes and improvements.
- Cleanse and evaluate data sources for system integration.
- Monitor data quality and vendor reporting alignment with Procurement goals.
- Regularly update the Data Manager on project progress and obstacles.
- Serve as a contact point for supply chain tools and assist in development and modifications as needed.
- Participate in vendor and integration management activities, including Aeroxchange platform support.
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence teams and external vendors to meet data and reporting expectations.
- Support prioritization, testing, and deployment of software changes affecting Procurement systems.
- Help define a roadmap for optimal use of new systems to enhance Intake-to-Invoice productivity.
- Assist in budget and financial performance analysis related to the Procurement department.
- Maintain adherence to team KPIs and performance standards.
- Model and apply the company's customer service commitments and standards in daily work.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant experience in programming, database management, or a related discipline, coupled with strong financial knowledge.
- Experience in materials procurement, data analytics, and process management.
- Skilled in systems support, change management, and database creation/maintenance.
- Advanced problem-solving skills, able to juggle multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient communication abilities to initiate and maintain technical dialogues.
- Competent in analyzing, cleaning data sets, and identifying gaps with mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with SQL and Visual Basic programming.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
- Preferred: knowledge of Accounting, Statistics, Supply Chain principles, experience with Trax (eMRO), SAP Ariba, or SAP software, Lean or Six Sigma certification, and HTML coding skills.
Additional Information
The role requires regular office work involving sitting, standing, talking, hearing, and extensive computer use, sometimes necessitating lifting up to 20 pounds. Shift flexibility in a 24-hour environment and exposure to typical office noise and conditions are expected. Some travel may be required. As an essential service provider, employees must be prepared to work during emergencies unless restricted by law.
