About the team
Turo is hiring a Data Analyst to help accelerate growth in the US. This role works across multiple business areas and partners closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations. The right candidate brings strong quantitative and analytical ability, a proactive ownership mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to quickly learn new subject areas.
What you will do
- Work with large and complex datasets to uncover opportunities, turn findings into practical recommendations, and validate those insights.
- Share analysis and recommendations with executive leaders and collaborate with product teams to move quickly from insight to action.
- Own experimentation efforts end to end, from test design through result analysis that informs product launch decisions.
- Work alongside product, data science, and operations leaders to help shape product direction and improve user experience and/or business profitability.
- Monitor business performance and help stakeholders understand and respond to changing trends.
- Contribute to ad hoc analysis aligned with the company’s strategic priorities.
- Create data definitions and specifications, build ETL pipelines, and evaluate how new product releases and policy updates affect the platform.
Your profile
- A college graduate will be considered; backgrounds in product/data analytics, data science, business intelligence, or strategy consulting are relevant, and experience in consumer tech, marketplaces, or e-commerce is a strong advantage.
- Strong quantitative ability with a proven track record of using metrics and detailed analysis to influence business outcomes.
- Advanced SQL skills and a solid understanding of relational databases; experience with BI and visualization tools such as DOMO or Tableau is a plus.
- Ability to convert data into clear presentations that explain the story behind the numbers.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Intellectually curious, self-driven, detail-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Experience designing and running A/B tests is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex insights clearly.
- Comfort working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
- Positive attitude, high integrity, and a strong work ethic.
Compensation and schedule
The target base salary in San Francisco is USD 124,000 to USD 155,000 per year. In addition to base pay, the role is eligible for equity and benefits. Final compensation is based on objective factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, and training.
This is a hybrid office role. Employees are expected in the San Francisco office three days each week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Working in the office at least three days per week is treated as an essential part of this hybrid position.
