About BAC
BAC is a leading systems integrator and HubSpot Diamond Partner dedicated to scaling financial services companies by integrating HubSpot and Claude into unified go-to-market systems. Currently, BAC is focusing on the lending sector, aiming to build a strong foothold by delivering specialized products before expanding across industries. The product team is central to this evolution, responsible for discovering and creating new product opportunities aligned with BAC's strategic vision.
Role Overview
As the Product Manager, your core goal is to identify the next lending product BAC should develop, build an initial working version independently, validate it with actual lenders, and then incorporate it into BAC's product portfolio. You will cycle through multiple product hypotheses, each undertaking is an end-to-end mission from concept to live customer adoption. Continuous iteration and rapid decision-making define this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research to pinpoint inefficiencies and pain points within lending workflows, specifying affected institutions and the cost impact.
- Develop detailed business cases outlining problems, target buyers, payment willingness, minimal viable solutions for validation, and conditions for project termination.
- Lead the zero-to-one build process primarily working solo, utilizing the HubSpot and Claude technology stack with minimal engineering support.
- Validate new products by securing real customer usage or financial commitment, not just interest or feedback.
- Create compelling product narratives, proof points, and objection responses to empower the go-to-market team.
- Transition validated products to official BAC offerings, overseeing their continued development as product owner in partnership with engineering.
- Collaborate with consulting and GTM teams to capture ongoing market intelligence for refining current products and identifying future opportunities.
Who Thrives in This Role
- Strong sense of agency—self-driven, resilient, and proactive in navigating challenges without reliance on external prompts.
- Intense curiosity—persistent in investigating beyond superficial answers and committed to continuous learning.
- Good judgement and timing—capable of making decisive calls and defending position with conviction.
- Collectively, these traits foster a founder’s mindset characterized by ownership, urgency, and a commitment to transforming the market.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience taking at least one product from concept to paying customer with significant autonomy.
- In-depth knowledge of the Australian lending ecosystem across brokers, banks, non-banks, or fintech lenders, with the ability to identify workflow breakdowns.
- Hands-on experience with the HubSpot API for backend integrations and custom front-end UI development.
- Proficiency in using Claude Code or similar AI code generation technologies to rapidly develop software.
Technical Profile
- Fluency in TypeScript and JavaScript, with comfort in Node.js and Python environments.
- Background in front-end frameworks such as React or Next.js.
- Version control expertise with Git and GitHub.
Preferred Background
- Full-stack engineering experience transitioning into product management, with strong building capabilities and strategic ownership.
- Design sensibility, particularly with tools like Figma and Claude Design, to craft engaging user interfaces.
- Bonus: ability to create progressive web apps deployable on iOS and Android platforms.
- Location and Eligibility: Must reside in Australia and be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
Working Style & Tools
- Commercially oriented, focusing on business viability alongside technical delivery.
- Direct customer engagement for discovery and validation.
- Strong storytelling skills for positioning and marketing products.
- Willingness to discontinue unproductive initiatives decisively.
- Platforms and tools include HubSpot (API and UI extensions), Claude and Claude Code, Figma, with production builds on Vercel, Supabase, and Trigger.dev.
Additional Information
- This role offers the highest degree of autonomy and requires comfort with frequent product failures as a natural part of the innovation process.
- The position is fully remote, with optional access to a Sydney office space at World Square.
- Opportunities exist to join BAC’s employee equity scheme as products grow within the portfolio.
