Role Overview

The Cross Functional Project Manager will oversee product launches, significant updates, and strategic initiatives from conception to completion. This role involves coordinating efforts across multiple teams including Product, Curriculum, Content Production, Technology, Marketing, Sales, Business Operations, and Customer Support to align efforts and ensure clarity on project goals and individual responsibilities.

The focus is primarily on business and product initiatives with technological components as part of the projects. The candidate will also manage tech-related requests, converting business requirements into actionable Jira tasks, monitoring their progress, and updating stakeholders accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage cross-departmental projects from initial design through launch with clear goals, timelines, responsibilities, dependencies, and success criteria.
• Organize product launches and major enhancements among diverse teams including Product, Curriculum, Production, Technology, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support.
• Drive project momentum by facilitating discussions, clarifying decisions, addressing risks, overcoming obstacles, and ensuring commitment adherence.
• Act as an impartial partner to resolve conflicts, balance competing priorities, adjust scopes, and help teams reach consensus.
• Handle technology-specific tasks by articulating business needs, managing Jira tickets, coordinating with cross-functional groups, and communicating project updates.
• Tailor project management methods to project size and complexity, balancing necessary structure with agility.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum five years managing cross-functional projects or programs successfully from planning to delivery.
• Experience coordinating activities across various business areas such as Product, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Customer Support, Content, Production, or Technology.
• Strong leadership skills including consensus-building, prioritization, accountability enforcement, and influence without direct authority.
• Proficiency with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, applying appropriate levels of process for each project.
• Familiarity with Jira or comparable platforms for ticket management, progress tracking, and stakeholder communication.
• Excellent communication, relationship management, problem-solving, and facilitation capabilities with the adaptability to operate objectively in dynamic settings.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred; certifications like PMP or CAPM are advantageous but not mandatory if supported by substantial project leadership experience.
• Background in EdTech, education, consumer products, professional certification, SaaS, consulting, or e-commerce is beneficial.

• Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
• Project management platforms such as Monday.com, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project.
• Microsoft 365 tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
• Salesforce and Drupal for customer and content management.
• Process diagramming tools like Visio or Lucidchart.
• AI-enhanced productivity applications like ChatGPT or Claude.
