QA Lead

About the Role

We represent a partner company seeking a QA Lead located in Germany to join a fully remote team dedicated to delivering high-caliber gaming experiences globally. This leadership role involves managing daily operations for both development and publishing quality assurance teams, ensuring testing processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with ambitious production targets. The QA Lead will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to uphold quality standards, enhance workflows, and provide transparent insights into product readiness. This position offers a dynamic blend of hands-on leadership and cross-team collaboration, contributing directly to the success of significant game releases within a fast-paced, innovative setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities of internal QA teams to guarantee effective planning and execution of testing aligned with project goals.
• Manage distribution of resources and tasks, adjusting efforts in response to shifting development timelines while upholding quality benchmarks.
• Regularly assess and enhance QA processes by implementing best practices, mentoring staff, and fostering excellence in testing operations.
• Serve as the main liaison between QA, development, publishing, and cross-functional groups, translating production deadlines into testing objectives.
• Deliver clear, data-driven reports on build stability, testing progress, quality metrics, and release readiness.
• Supervise external QA vendors and outsourcing partners to ensure smooth collaboration, consistent quality, and effective integration of external testing feedback.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years experience in Quality Assurance within the video game industry, covering both development and publishing aspects.
• At least 2 years in a leadership role managing QA teams, delegating responsibilities, mentoring, and improving team performance.
• Deep understanding of contemporary software testing methodologies, structured QA processes, and technical build pipelines.
• Proven track record working with external QA vendors, outsourcing partners, or co-development studios.
• Expertise in QA and project management tools like Jira, Confluence, and related test management platforms.
• Experience creating detailed test plans, writing structured test cases, and enhancing testing workflows.
• Participation in launching AA or AAA video game titles is a significant advantage.
• Genuine passion for video games, especially Action RPG or Soulslike genres, coupled with strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to excel in a fully remote, fast-moving environment where priorities may change quickly.
