About Peaskie Minerals Inc.
Peaskie Minerals is a leading provider of domestically sourced proppants and silica flour serving the West Central Sedimentary Basin (WCSB). Their facility is located about 12 kilometers north of Redwater, approximately a 45-minute drive from northern Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Manager of Quality, Environment and Land, the Quality Control Supervisor will oversee the quality standards of sand, gravel, and crushed stone products. This role also involves managing a team of QC Lab Technicians to uphold product consistency and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Direct quality control operations to ensure aggregates comply with internal and customer standards.
- Supervise, plan, and coordinate activities of quality control personnel.
- Manage sampling, testing, and documentation processes to guarantee consistent product quality.
- Analyze test results versus specifications, tolerances, and targets; promptly communicate deviations or trends to relevant departments and ensure follow-up actions.
- Oversee laboratory management including equipment maintenance, calibration, and audit readiness for both internal and external inspections.
- Develop and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and document control protocols.
- Promote adherence to safety and compliance norms across quality and production teams.
- Collaborate with operations to identify quality trends and initiate corrective measures.
- Support continuous improvements related to quality systems and processes.
- Establish routine reporting standards and expectations.
Skills and Physical Requirements
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong leadership abilities in managing technical teams.
- Experience leading quality control in industrial or mining environments.
- Track record of managing technicians, enforcing safety and industry standards, and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong analytical capabilities to identify defect root causes and initiate resolutions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to report to senior management and interact with suppliers and clients.
- Knowledge of aggregate product standards and industry best practices.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in plant or outdoor settings with variable weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, a related Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical industry experience.
- Deep understanding of aggregate materials, strong mathematical aptitude, and proficiency with QC databases and reporting software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Annual salary ranging from CA$100,000 to CA$120,000.
