Role overview
A systematic hedge fund in Singapore is expanding its systematic equities capability and is looking for a development engineer to strengthen the trading technology stack. This role works closely with quants, traders, and broader business teams to keep trading systems dependable, fast, and fit for live operations. The team is seeking someone with practical exposure to alpha research, high-frequency trading environments, and development in Python and/or C++.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with quantitative researchers to build software that supports P&L growth.
- Build, improve, maintain, and support trading platforms, with an emphasis on speed, reliability, and ongoing feature upgrades.
- Design dashboards, visual tools, and monitoring systems for live trading and simulation, including market data, positions, profit and loss, and other trading metrics.
- Work with business stakeholders to align technical solutions with trading requirements.
Requirements
- A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer/Telecommunication Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing high-performance software; exposure to trading platform development will be a strong advantage.
- Strong coding ability in C++ and Python, with familiarity in R, Linux, MySQL, and similar tools.
- Comfortable working independently as well as in a team setting.
- Strong commitment to delivering quality work within tight timelines.
