Rail System Engineering Lead

Job Overview

RINA is seeking a Rail System Engineering Lead to join its Project Engineering Division in Abu Dhabi. This role involves leading the technical execution of complex, high-value rail projects, focusing on maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with safety and industry norms.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical evaluations and feasibility studies during proposal preparation.
• Gather and integrate technical inputs to create comprehensive proposals.
• Estimate required skills, resources, and efforts for proposal development.
• Ensure technical project delivery meets quality standards and deadlines.
• Manage and supervise all technical project activities, adjusting plans to stay on track.
• Lead and allocate tasks within the engineering team and collaborate with other engineers and subcontractors.
• Liaise with Discipline Managers for allocation and adjustment of resources.
• Implement quality control measures and uphold assurance procedures to meet project specifications.
• Ensure compliance with technical regulations, safety standards, and address related concerns promptly with support from leadership.
• Maintain technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle and prepare technical reports and presentations for clients.
• Provide mentoring and technical training to junior engineers to enhance their skills.
• Facilitate clear communication between technical teams, project management, and stakeholders.
• Identify and apply process improvements from previous projects to enhance future performance.

Education and Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• More than 15 years of experience in technical project execution; with 10-15 years of project management experience using established methodologies.
• Strong interdisciplinary expertise in System Engineering, RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability), and Safety Assurance for large railway and mobility infrastructure projects.
• Extensive knowledge in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems across multiple technical domains.
• Proficient in quality control and assurance processes.
• Experience with RAMS activities and safety processes, capable of developing safety documentation, risk assessments, hazard analyses, safety plans, and hazard logs.
• Skilled in interface and integration management as well as providing technical support during integration and validation testing.
• Ability to manage technical aspects of large-scale, high-value projects and familiarity with relevant industry standards (ISO, ANSI, IEC, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills to solve technical challenges and assess risks proactively.
• Experience coordinating teams for preparing and reviewing technical reports.
