Role Summary

The Security Technician position is a full-time, onsite role located in Adelaide, SA. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining electronic security systems such as access control and alarm systems according to project specifications and compliance mandates. Daily tasks involve fault detection and troubleshooting, routine system maintenance, upgrades, and testing. The technician will collaborate with project managers and clients, maintain detailed documentation, and ensure strict adherence to occupational health and safety standards. Additional duties include assisting in system optimization and providing ongoing support through service contracts.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and repairing issues within electronic security systems.
• Previous construction site experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of network security relevant to electronic access control and integration systems.
• Experience with alarm system installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Understanding and application of occupational health and safety standards pertinent to onsite technical work.
• Prior experience as a security technician or similar data technician roles.
• Familiarity with Gallagher EACS and Gallagher T1A or comparable access control platforms is highly preferred.
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in electronics, IT, or security systems (e.g., Certificate III/IV or vendor-specific training); candidates including apprentices are welcome.
• Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications with meticulous attention to detail and record-keeping.
• Valid driver's license and capability to travel to client locations throughout Adelaide and nearby regions.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams.
