Senior 3D Design Engineer

Role Overview

We are actively looking for a seasoned Senior FreeCAD Engineer to join an innovative project focused on engineering next-generation AI systems. This role emphasizes mechanical design expertise using parametric CAD modeling to improve AI's capabilities to understand and tackle real-world engineering challenges. Prior experience with AI is not necessary; strong engineering skills are essential.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop, refine, and validate detailed parametric CAD models using FreeCAD consistent with project guidelines.
• Design and optimize mechanical assemblies adhering to industry standards for component integration.
• Implement Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles along with Design for Manufacturing to ensure production feasibility and quality.
• Prepare precise technical drawings and comprehensive engineering documentation suitable for manufacturing.
• Conduct engineering quality assurance checks on CAD models and technical drawings to guarantee precision and specification compliance.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Engineering, or closely related disciplines.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in mechanical or product design engineering with an emphasis on parametric CAD modeling.
• Proficient in FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD software.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical design including GD&T and DFM practices.
• Experience in creating detailed manufacturing-ready technical drawings and documentation.
• Skilled in quality assurance assessment of engineering models ensuring adherence to design standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving capabilities, and clear communication skills.
• Self-motivated to work independently within a remote, project-driven environment.
