Senior Planning Engineer

Role Overview

A contracting company in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Civil Planning Engineer to support project planning and scheduling work. The ideal candidate will come from a civil engineering background and have experience handling planning tasks within civil projects.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• The role calls for 5 to 7 years of experience in the UAE.
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in project planning and scheduling is expected.
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and other project management software is necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage the project baseline programme, including work breakdown structures, activities, and milestones.
• Use Primavera P6 to build, revise, and maintain project schedules.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress updates, along with S-curves, Gantt charts, and other reporting visuals.
• Coordinate regular progress review meetings with the project team and address schedule-related concerns.
• Track project performance against the approved baseline and flag delays or variations early.
• Make sure the schedule aligns with the project execution strategy and that all milestones are realistically achievable.
• Develop S-curves and manpower histograms to support planning and reporting.

Employment Details

This is a permanent, full-time position based onsite in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
