Role Overview

The Senior Planning Engineer will be instrumental in developing and managing comprehensive project schedules, coordinating inputs from diverse project stakeholders, and ensuring projects stay on track in terms of cost and timeline. This role is site-based in Singapore and focuses on construction project planning at large scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and update project schedules in close collaboration with the project team members.
• Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and team members to gather necessary data for project scheduling.
• Create baseline schedules integrating resources, cost estimations, S-curves, program narratives, and detailed scope overviews.
• Forecast project progress and maintain rolling program updates.
• Generate weekly and monthly progress reports comparing actual vs. planned timelines.
• Design and manage detailed micro-programmes for specific trades facilitating on-site planning and coordination.
• Oversee progress control to ensure alignment with the master construction program concerning turnover and cost.
• Supervise timely submissions and approvals of drawings and materials.
• Track project orders and material deliveries as per the agreed schedules.
• Coordinate interfaces and integration with all disciplines aligned to the baseline schedule.
• Prepare claimable Extensions of Time (EOT) under contractual clauses, collaborating with commercial teams, employing new catch-up program strategies as necessary.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an institution recognized by Singapore’s Professional Engineers Board (PEB) or Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
• Sound knowledge of construction industry practices and standards relating to planning and scheduling activities.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in high-value projects ($100 million and above), with direct involvement in planning and scheduling building projects including external works.
• Proficiency with project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Experience relating to Land Transport Authority (LTA) program preparation, requirements, and submissions is a plus.
• Familiarity with 4D BIM technology will be considered advantageous.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, producing accurate schedules, narratives, and progress histograms.
• Detail-oriented with strong team collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• This is a position based on-site in Singapore.
