Overview

The Signalling (SIG) Supervisor role supports the SIG Manager in prioritizing workload based on operational needs and safety requirements, ensuring maintenance aligns with business objectives. This position involves troubleshooting complex issues, ensuring asset maintenance meets quality standards, and maintaining compliance with metro operational, safety, and quality guidelines throughout the asset lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee asset maintenance, including planning, strategy development, and execution of predictive and condition-based maintenance for signalling systems.
  • Manage the execution of maintenance and repair activities according to planned schedules and manuals, upholding quality standards.
  • Assist in recruitment, training, and evaluation of personnel, supporting continuous development initiatives.
  • Support technical leadership in root cause analyses, incident reporting, and review of maintenance documentation, design drawings, and related documents.
  • Supervise complex maintenance tasks conducted by internal teams or subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper tool usage.
  • Provide safety and quality briefings and toolbox talks to supervisors to maintain high safety standards.
  • Support the review and governance of change management processes to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Act as deputy to the SIG Manager or Head of Transit Systems when required, assisting with other relevant duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams by providing technical analysis and justification for RFQs, developing Bills of Materials, facilitating tender processes, and exploring alternate equipment manufacturers to support localization efforts aimed at enhancing quality and reducing costs.

Candidate Profile

  • At minimum, a Technical Diploma; a Degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Desired knowledge or certification in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in systems related to rail, aviation, or transportation.
  • Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience.
  • Proven experience in developing Bills of Materials, contributing to procurement and competitive tendering processes, and providing technical clarifications.
  • Expertise in Root Cause Analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Strong ability to build relationships and influence at various organizational levels.
  • Experience presenting insights and technical input to senior management.
  • Skilled in analyzing and predicting equipment failures, offering solutions that extend asset lifecycle.
