About the Role and Team

This position is for a Software Engineer within the Product Sizing and Packaging (PSP) unit. The PSP team is tasked with tailoring infrastructure architectures to optimally fulfill the workload demands of Splunk Enterprise Cloud customers.

We seek an eager and innovative full-stack engineer dedicated to collaborating closely with product owners and designers. Your focus will be on creating and maintaining a collection of internal and external customer-facing Splunk applications and services that gather, analyze, visualize data, and deliver architecture tailored to client requirements. Participation in an on-call rotation to manage critical customer incidents outside normal hours is required to minimize service disruption and quickly resolve issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive enhancements of modern, interactive user interfaces using React for both internal and external Splunk applications and services.
  • Develop and manage features and APIs aimed at delivering new value to customers.
  • Construct backend solutions that translate customer subscription information into precise cloud infrastructure recommendations and inputs for automated deployment.
  • Break down complex tasks into achievable steps to streamline team efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field plus five or more years of experience; alternatively, a Master’s degree with at least four years of experience, or equivalent hands-on practice.
  • Strong abilities in frontend and backend development with proficiency in languages and tools such as Go, Python, React, and Node.js.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining microservices architecture.
  • Practical knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure, alongside containerization with Docker, and orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of collaborating across diverse teams and translating complex concepts into actionable plans.
