Overview
Join Microsoft’s CoreAI division to develop AI-driven developer tools and services that empower billions of creators globally. This role focuses on building global-scale platforms imbued with enterprise-grade trust, security, and reliability from inception to deployment.
As a Software Engineer in the Developer Platforms team, you will architect, develop, and maintain fundamental platform services spanning the entire application lifecycle. Our focus ranges across code management and CI/CD through Azure DevOps to large-scale app testing with Azure App Testing, and also includes running applications on Azure PaaS offerings such as Azure App Service, Container Apps, Functions, API Management, and Logic Apps.
Additionally, you will contribute to Azure- and Foundry-centric integrations with prominent technology vendors like MongoDB, Elastic, and Datadog, providing customers with flexibility, choice, and assurance when constructing and operating modern cloud-based applications using AI as a foundational element.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage AI-powered cloud services and platforms supporting developer and enterprise workflows with full ownership from architecture through live operation.
- Develop cloud-to-edge capabilities including Azure resource providers, data integrations, and portal interfaces facilitating secure, scalable management of modern applications and AI workloads.
- Build AI-enhanced engineering and lifecycle tools that boost testing efficiency, quality analysis, incident handling, and developer productivity throughout the software development process.

- Embrace an outcome-driven, platform-first mindset, crafting long-lasting platforms based on metrics, telemetry, and user feedback with comprehensive DevOps lifecycle accountability.
- Integrate AI natively within engineering processes covering design, coding, testing, release validation, and operational maintenance to ensure correctness, safety, and trust.
- Maintain enterprise-grade standards for security, privacy, compliance, reliability, and responsible AI practices.
- Engage in continuous skill development and collaboration with a focus on distributed systems, cloud technologies, and applied AI in a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Between 1 to 3 years’ experience producing production-quality software in modern languages like C#, C++, Go, Java, or Python.
- Solid grasp of software engineering principles, data structures, and problem-solving abilities.
- Rapid learner adaptable to new technologies with a goal-oriented approach to create customer and business value.
Preferred
- Experience with Linux environments and open-source projects.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Exposure to site reliability engineering practices.
- Experience with AI-augmented development and data analytics workflows.
- Understanding of Azure resource providers, platform extensibility, and security, compliance, or responsible AI concepts.
