Role Overview

We are seeking a Supply Chain Manager at our Chatsworth site to lead day-to-day procurement and supply chain operations related to their assigned workstream. The role involves overseeing buyer workloads, monitoring their performance, supplier selection, negotiating prices and schedules, and tracking supplier on-time delivery (OTD) metrics. Regular collaboration with senior leadership across Operations, Finance, Quality, Engineering, HR, and Global Supply Chain is essential. Reporting lines lead to the Site Head of Procurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure prompt management of purchase order releases in compliance with Procure To Pay procedures.
• Foster effective relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers.
• Support skill enhancement aligned with Buyer responsibilities.
• Implement and monitor Purchase Order efficiency metrics.
• Address invoice discrepancies and resolve issues negatively affecting deliveries or payments.
• Assist with executing global commodity strategies in areas like electronics, seals, bearings, and machining.
• Maintain awareness and enforce compliance with long-term agreements and supplier contracts.
• Escalate potential delivery or commercial challenges that might significantly impact operations.

Technical Expertise

• Proficient negotiation and supplier management capabilities.
• Experience managing RFx processes, performing cost analyses, and handling contract administration.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing procedures.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Syteline, and Visual.
• Preferred knowledge of aerospace and defense regulatory requirements, including ITAR/EAR compliance.
• Manage contract lifecycle including pricing updates, amendments, and ensuring compliance.
• Maintain alignment with commercial terms, risk mitigation strategies, and legal standards.
• Stay updated on global commodity markets, including supply-demand trends, cost drivers (materials, labor, energy), capacity constraints, supplier landscapes, and pricing elasticity.
• Provide market intelligence and risk assessments to senior commodity leadership.
• Support strategy development and fine-tuning for commodities.
• Monitor and improve supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and service metrics.
• Participate in supplier business reviews and address performance improvement activities in collaboration with Supplier Quality and site teams.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• Between 3 to 7 years’ experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing context, preferably aerospace and defense.
• Strong competency in analytical thinking and cost modeling.
• Proven track record managing RFx processes and conducting supplier negotiations.
• In-depth understanding of contract management principles.
• Knowledgeable about global supply markets and commodity behaviors.
• Skilled in interpreting technical documentation and drawings.
• Effective communication skills suitable for global and matrixed organizational environments.

The compensation range for this position is between $100,000 and $140,000 annually.
