Position Summary

The organization is expanding its Supply Engineering division and seeks a seasoned Supply Engineering Team Lead to enhance operations, streamline procurement workflows, and guide a skilled team. This full-time leadership role requires onsite presence in Brooklyn, New York, reporting directly to the Chief Technical Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee procurement engineering activities, including placing and tracking component orders and ensuring all documentation and materials are prepared before production starts.
  • Coordinate the launch of production by managing glass orders and guaranteeing availability of hardware and other necessary materials.
  • Forecast procurement demands and manage inventory levels prudently.
  • Analyze technical drawings and specifications for precise material list preparation.
  • Verify product dimensions, finishes, and quality standards prior to procurement.
  • Maintain detailed procurement records and engineering documentation throughout project phases.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with suppliers from the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, including negotiation of pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Supervise purchasing operations for production, warehousing, and installation activities.
  • Evaluate supplier performance continuously and address quality or logistics issues as they arise.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency, supplier relations, and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Estimating, Warehouse, and Installation teams to support engineering changes, material substitutions, and overall procurement planning.
  • Lead and mentor a team of four Procurement Engineers by assigning duties, prioritizing assignments, conducting performance reviews, and facilitating problem resolution.
  • Provide procurement expertise during complex sourcing challenges and manage supplier escalations.
  • Report regularly to the CTO on progress, risks, and operational status.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in procurement engineering or a related field, with leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven track record managing supplier relationships across international markets including the US, Europe, Middle East, and Asia.
  • Experience in sourcing, procurement, and import/export logistics for engineering or production materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documents accurately.
  • Fluent in both English and Russian languages.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiar with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, PDF utilities, and project/task management tools like ClickUp.
