Technician

Overview

Grosvenor House Dubai and Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa are seeking motivated individuals for the role of Technician to advance their careers within Marriott International. The Technician will be responsible for attending to guest maintenance requests promptly and effectively, troubleshooting and repairing various equipment, and performing preventative maintenance on kitchen and mechanical room tools and machines.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate foundational knowledge in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy efficiency, and general building maintenance.
• Perform surface preparation tasks including painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, replacing light bulbs and A/C filters, ensuring thorough cleanup after repairs or painting.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and carry out basic repairs on equipment, plumbing (such as plunging toilets, clearing drains), electrical components including lamps and outlets, household devices like vacuum cleaners and internet equipment, and program televisions.
• Maintain familiarity with fire sprinkler and emergency power systems and participate in emergency response duties as part of the Fire and Emergency Rescue Teams.
• Adhere to property protocols guiding emergency situations (fire, evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters) to safeguard the facility and restore operations swiftly.
• Keep consistent communication with supervisors to ensure availability and ordering of necessary materials, tools, and supplies.
• Collaborate effectively within team environments, interacting with all organizational levels.
• Conduct visual inspections of tools, machines, and equipment to detect defects.
• Assist with lifting and moving heavy objects exceeding 100 pounds safely.
• Utilize computer systems to access and log work-related information efficiently.
• Execute tasks requiring hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills such as manipulating objects of various sizes and weights.

Candidate Requirements

• At least one year of experience in general maintenance including interior and exterior surface treatments.
• Previous experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is considered advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent teamwork abilities.
• Efficient time management and strong analytical problem-solving skills.

Selection Process
