About the role
This position is for an experienced window cleaning operative who can work across a range of access methods, including BMU, MEWP, water-fed pole systems, and traditional techniques. Training will be provided where needed for BMU or MEWP use.
What you will do
- Complete window cleaning assignments allocated by the supervisor or line manager, making sure work is carried out safely and on time.
- Operate company-provided specialist tools and equipment to remove dirt, marks, and allergens effectively.
- Carry out scheduled deep-cleaning work as required by client agreements.
- Respond to specialist cleaning requests from management or clients and adapt methods or equipment to suit the task.
- Be available for urgent callouts and attend emergency cleaning needs promptly at different locations.
- Work in line with company and client policies, as well as legal requirements covering health and safety, safe systems of work, hygiene, cleanliness, fire safety, and COSHH.
- Identify and report potential hazards such as blocked or locked fire doors, following client and company procedures.
- Escalate customer complaints or positive feedback, and take practical remedial action where possible.
- Report any accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, or other unusual incident immediately to the line manager or supervisor.
Requirements
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- Previous window cleaning experience is required, and experience working at height or on high-rise buildings is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with good self-motivation and initiative, while also following instructions and contributing to a team.
- Availability for an 8-hour shift, usually from 6:00am to 2:00pm, with variations depending on site, client needs, and other factors.
- Some weekend work and out-of-hours cover will be needed, planned in advance and paid as overtime.
- A professional approach at all times.
