Role Overview
This opportunity is offered through a partnering firm that handles all applications and hiring actions. They seek a System Administrator based in the United States to provide technical expertise in maintaining reliable, secure, and efficient IT systems supporting a globally distributed workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical support across multiple operating platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Handle installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of workstations, software, peripherals, and IT equipment.
- Utilize ticketing tools such as Jira to manage and prioritize support requests effectively.
- Identify and resolve issues pertaining to hardware, software, network connectivity, and related technologies.
- Oversee device lifecycle tasks such as inventory management, setup, deployment, maintenance, and replacement.
- Implement and maintain security measures including VPNs, antivirus software, mobile device management (MDM), backup solutions, firewalls, and monitoring systems.
- Ensure adherence to IT policies, security guidelines, and operational standards.
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, procedural guides, and knowledge bases.
- Support network administration functions involving protocols and technologies like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLANs.
- Enhance IT processes through automation, scripting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in managing user access rights, system configurations, and infrastructure-related duties.
Candidate Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of practical experience in system administration or similar technical support roles.
- Proficiency in managing Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Solid understanding of networking essentials such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLAN technologies.
- Experience working with security technologies including antivirus, firewalls, backup strategies, MDM, and logging platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for diagnosing hardware and software faults.
- Competence in using ticketing systems and producing comprehensive technical documentation.
- Familiarity with scripting or automation using Bash, PowerShell, or similar tools is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy management, and virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills and capability to deliver clear, professional user support.
- Self-driven with the ability to independently handle priorities and tasks within a remote work environment.
