About the Role
Hawkins, New Zealand's premier construction company known for delivering some of the nation's most iconic and complex commercial projects including airports, office towers, universities, and healthcare facilities, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join its South Island team based in Christchurch, Canterbury.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the delivery of major projects while enhancing Hawkins' regional capabilities. This involves leading site teams across diverse commercial construction projects valued from $1 million to over $30 million, ensuring projects consistently meet their scheduled program milestones with top-quality standards.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of site management experience, preferably with renowned main contractors.
- Experience managing commercial construction projects, particularly large-scale developments in healthcare and technical sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand building regulations, standards, and construction methods.
- A solid grasp of relevant legislation and compliance standards within the construction industry.
- Focus on meticulous planning and adherence to project schedules.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Proven leadership abilities, capable of managing complex stakeholder relationships constructively.
- Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
