Senior Procurement Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Procurement Engineer to lead procurement activities supporting Oil & Gas EPC projects in Doha, Qatar. The role encompasses managing procurement strategies, conducting supplier evaluations, commercial negotiations, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet project schedules. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Construction, and Logistics to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project goals, budget constraints, and quality standards.
• Conduct comprehensive supplier sourcing, market research, and perform evaluations to select optimal vendors.
• Lead negotiations on commercial and contractual terms to obtain favorable conditions and best value for projects.
• Manage the full procurement cycle from requisition to purchase order award.
• Monitor supplier performance continuously and identify opportunities for cost reductions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior procurement team members.
• Oversee post-award expediting activities ensuring timely delivery from purchase order issuance to final site receipt.
• Track procurement and delivery timelines to support on-schedule project execution.
• Organize and lead supplier kickoff meetings and follow up on supplier deliverables.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Logistics, and Project teams to resolve issues related to vendor delays, logistics obstacles, and material shortages.
• Ensure procurement practices comply with contractual requirements and internal procurement policies.
• Generate regular progress reports for project stakeholders and senior management.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years professional experience overall.
• At least 5 years’ experience in procurement and expediting roles within EPC Oil & Gas projects.
• Proven expertise in handling both pre-award procurement activities and post-award expediting tasks.
• Mandatory experience using SAP or other ERP systems for procurement operations.
• Strong skills in negotiation, supplier management, and commercial contract handling.
• Previous work experience in the GCC region is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field.
• Possession of CIPS or an equivalent professional supply chain qualification is highly advantageous.
