Role Overview
Join the Singapore Armed Forces in a pivotal counsellor position that transcends traditional roles. This opportunity is designed for dedicated professionals eager to enhance mental health, operate within a dynamic setting, and significantly influence the welfare of national servicemen and the broader ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct clinical care utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches, crisis intervention, and thorough risk assessments to support servicemen adapting to military life.
- Manage the 24/7 SAF Counselling Hotline, collaborating with a professional team to provide immediate counselling assistance to service personnel experiencing crises.
- Act as a strategic mental health advisor to Commanders and SAF Paracounsellors, offering expert guidance and fostering a psychologically supportive and safe unit environment.
- Develop and implement extensive mental well-being programs aimed at enhancing psychological resilience and promoting preventive mental health measures across SAF units.

- Meaningfully engage with the evolving youth demographic and address the rising expectations of the new generation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess relevant educational background in Counselling, Counselling Psychology, or Social Work.
- Have a minimum of three years of practical counselling experience.
- Be a registered practitioner with one of the following: Singapore Association for Counselling, Singapore Association of Social Workers, Association of Professionals Specialising in Addiction Counselling, or Singapore Psychological Society.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities.
- Demonstrate strong systems-thinking skills.
