Role Overview

As an Airport Controller, you will act as a pivotal coordinator ensuring the smooth operation of Sydney’s busiest airport terminals, including both International and Domestic sectors. This role is a 12-month maximum-term contract focused on maintaining operational excellence and supporting various airport stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Airport Duty Manager (Operations Control) during shifts, collaborating and negotiating with principal airport stakeholders to identify optimal operational solutions, especially during normal and off-schedule scenarios.
  • Maintain the accuracy and timeliness of the Flight Information Display System, ensuring relevant operational updates are communicated effectively to all airport users, particularly during disruptions such as adverse weather, system outages, security issues, incidents, or accidents.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess at least five years of experience in operational scheduling or similar roles, including flight scheduling, operational planning, or related areas.
  • Demonstrate the ability to thrive under complex, high-pressure, and shifting 24/7 operational environments, managing competing priorities with a consistently positive and customer-oriented attitude.
  • Exhibit teamwork, effective communication, and negotiation skills, capable of influencing cross-functional teams internally and externally.
  • Show strong problem-solving competencies and a continuous improvement mindset focused on enhancing performance and processes.
