Role Overview
The Assistant Spa Manager will join the Ancient Cedars Spa team, a sanctuary emphasizing relaxation and well-being with treatments inspired by the local rainforest and coast. The spa team is globally acclaimed for excellence in service, working collaboratively to customize guest experiences in a calming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver guest services surpassing expectations according to Relais & Châteaux, Forbes, and AAA 4 & 5 Diamond benchmarks.
- Uphold the mission and service philosophies of the Inn and maintain exacting quality standards.
- Lead proactively as part of the spa leadership, assisting the Spa Manager and acting in their absence as a hands-on leader.
- Create a positive and educational atmosphere fostering team growth and development.
- Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the spa’s workspace, storage, and equipment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for immediate guest assistance and satisfactorily resolve concerns.
- Support administrative HR duties like scheduling, payroll submission, training, and performance reviews for spa staff including coordinators and practitioners.
- Contribute to strategy implementation aimed at meeting the monthly spa budget.
- Assist with transitioning to new spa software (SpaSoft) and develop corresponding standard operating procedures.
- Manage the retail program by providing training, feedback, and performance evaluations related to sales.
- Perform reception duties and cover treatment sessions when required.
- Execute all required administrative tasks to ensure seamless spa operations.
Candidate Profile
- Committed to continual learning within a team setting and meeting high hospitality standards.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities under pressure.
- Leadership aspirations for managing a world-class spa team.
- Familiarity with financial statements, budgeting, and cost management techniques.
- Experience with spa and property management systems like SpaSoft, Maestro, and proficiency in MS Office and FileMaker Pro is advantageous.
- Accountable for inventory management and budget control.
- Competence in handling inquiries, complaints, and solving problems efficiently.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous experience as a massage or spa practitioner is a bonus but not mandatory.
- At least two years' management experience in a luxury full-service facility is required.
- Readiness to commit to this role for a minimum of two years.
Salary and Benefits
