Core Banking Data Migration Lead

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Core Banking Data Migration Lead to join a prominent client in Doha, Qatar. This position is part of an extensive banking transformation initiative and requires a candidate with deep expertise in managing end-to-end core banking data migration projects. The engagement spans 12 months with a potential extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct all phases of data migration for core banking transformation programs.
• Develop and implement the migration strategy including planning, execution, data validation, and reconciliation processes.
• Work collaboratively with business units, technology departments, and external vendors to ensure migration activities are seamless and efficient.
• Examine and interpret source and target data models to establish mapping and data transformation guidelines.
• Maintain rigorous standards for data quality, governance, and regulatory compliance throughout migration.
• Recognize potential risks related to migration and devise effective mitigation plans.
• Lead rehearsals such as mock migrations, plan cutover activities, and manage production go-live efforts.
• Coordinate closely with testing teams during System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production deployment phases.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to project teams engaged in the migration process.

Required Experience and Skills

• Preferably possess IT experience with a strong background in banking technology.
• Demonstrated expertise in core banking data migration.
• Track record of leading or playing a key role in at least three core banking data migration projects, including a blend of two full implementation projects and one production support or upgrade project.
• Strong capabilities in stakeholder management and team leadership.
