Job Description
The Janitor will be responsible for thorough cleaning and upkeep of assigned areas within a building or across multiple client locations. The duties are varied and require adaptability to meet client-specific requirements effectively.
Work Schedule & Compensation
Work hours are Monday through Sunday from 6 AM to 11 AM. The pay rate is $12 per hour.
Primary Responsibilities
- Clean all types of floors through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Adhere to safety protocols when using chemical cleaners and cleaning equipment to avoid damage to surfaces or property.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entrance halls.
- Empty waste containers and handle trash appropriately, including the use of compactors where necessary.
- Wash windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with suitable products and tools.
- Spot clean carpets and assist with carpet extraction and shampooing when required.
- Restock paper and sanitary supplies.
- Follow a structured housekeeping schedule.
- Occasionally operate heavy-duty cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and polishers.
- Perform additional duties related to cleaning as assigned based on customer needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of six months experience in janitorial work.
- Willingness to learn on the job through provided training.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow directions precisely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or cleaning experience.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods and custodial standards.
- Familiarity with floor care practices including waxing and buffing.
- Experience with industrial cleaning or facility maintenance.
